Oem Vista on another computer, will it work if i uninstall the one i'm currently using?

Okay, I'm going to be buying a new custom made computer but the salesman says that we're not allowed to use our existing cd key since it's an oem version. However, what happens if i uninstall the oem version i'm currently using on my computer and use that OEM serial for my new comoputer? will that work?

You can move a retail version from one computer to another, but not an OEM version. Microsoft won't allow it. (And they have to allow it for you to be able to activate it on the new hardware.)
