What is the best way to remove the rear seat from a 1998 Mercury Sable sedan?
I am needing to run a coax cable from the trunk lid to the dash panel and am thinking of running it under the seat and along the console inside the cabin. Any better ideas?
The rear seat bottom cushion has two retainers on the front edge of the seat, one on each side. You need to push rearward on the bottom seat cushion. Grab the seat cushion at the bottom edge right above the carpet, and push it back towards the rear of the car and lift up, this will loosen the front edge of the seat, you need to do this to both sides of the cushion and then remove it. To install, tuck the rear edge of the seat cusion back under the seat back and push into place, then push rearward on the cushion and push down to install the front of the cushion back behind the retainers.
