How hard is it to repair a passenger side mirror on a 2005 Dodge Dakota?
I just realized that my friend's garage is not exactly wide enough to accomodate my truck AND its side mirrors. My passenger side mirror got busted up pretty good. The truck is a 2005 Dodge Dakota quad-cab. I'm not sure if the motor in the mirror is still working since its too dark to tell. I'm not a car buff, but I can figure out puzzles and things pretty well. Is this type of repair something I need to take to the dealer or can I do it myself? If I take it in somewhere, about how much will the repair cost? Thanks.
The mirror is actually $133.00 ~ $156.00 depending on what option you have. To install it, most "Dealers" are gonna charge a half hour to an hour to do. ($$ depends on thier labor rate..) I would recommend calling around for best labor quotes. Installing yourself wouldn't be that difficult either with some patience and simple hand tools. Buy the mirror assembly, then look at how it mounts. From there, if you can figure out how to replace it, do it. If not, start calling for best install prices.
