Here are some more information for Pontiac Trans:

When Henry Ford started producing automobiles, a car was, well, a car. And when Henry's cars had lived out their life and were hauled off to a wrecking yard for burial, they were still a car.
Of course, there were convertibles, sedans, sports cars, trucks and racing cars. But if one of these began its life as, say, a convertible, it was still a convertible when its life ended.
Fast-forward to the 1960's and the present day. Yes, we still have convertibles, sedans, sports cars, trucks and racing cars. But we also have cult cars, chick cars, guy cars, muscle cars, classic cars, and super cars. And while there was never any controversy over whether a convertible was a convertible or a sedan was a sedan, there is disagreement over whether a car is or isn't a cult car, chick car, guy car, muscle car, classic car, or super car.
Further, once a convertible always a convertible. But not so with a super car. A car can be a super car in one decade but not in the next. So what characteristics constitute it?
Historically, the term super car was originally used in 1917 in an article in Car and Track about an Alfa Romeo Monza. However, CAR Magazine takes credit for 'coining' the phrase when L. J. K. Setright, a well-known British motor journalist, applied it to the Lamborghini Miura in the 1960's. In the 1970's it was used regularly although there still wasn't total agreement on exactly what it meant. That is still the case today although there are some benchmarks.
A must is high speed. However, the ability to attain ultimate speed levels alone is not sufficient. The car must also have world class handling ability when driven at these speeds. As a result, they usually have rear engine placement and rear wheel drive. This feature places the bulk of the car's weight in the middle of the car and permits intricate maneuvering and precision handling at high speeds.
Another feature is high acceleration. The vehicle should be able to go from 0 to 100 mph in less than seven seconds and from 0 to 200 mph in less than thirty seconds. Added to high performance are the characteristics, which are more difficult to define, and may be the cause of some of the controversy in labeling a supercar.
It should be 'exotic' in appearance and be on the cutting edge of design. Although not a benchmark, one feature that all super autos share is high price which translates to anywhere from a few hundred thousand to around two million dollars.
They can either be factory models or modifications of factory models. An example of a modification is the 1986 Pontiac Trans AM. The Polly Motorsport Company, based in Norway, took this car and modified it so it was 'lightening fast.' The modified Trans AM set a speed record of 407.134 kmph on the Papenburg Test Track in Germany. It could also accelerate from 0-100 kmph in 2.3 seconds. Not only is it now a super car, it is also the fastest street legal car in Europe.
Another automobile that achieved both super and cult status is the Lamborghini Countach, popularized due to its extreme design.
One is not likely to encounter a super car on the way to work during the morning rush hour. In fact, this car is not a daily commuter; it is a toy, albeit a high priced one designed for fun for the elite.
Original Car Hire Choices For A Wedding
An essential past of any wedding is to get the right car for arriving at and departing from the church, as well as the trip to the airport for the honeymoon. Combining elegance and style is the primary concern for any wedding planner, however in recent years increasing numbers of couples have opted for more original forms of transport on their special day.
In London the choices available for those wishing to hire a wedding car are almost limitless. Of course there are the usual suspects like Rolls Royce, Bentley and Jaguar that make up the majority of the wedding car market. These cars can be seen as the classic choice of wedding car for their large size and style, however with more weddings today abandoning tradition a large number of companies have started hiring more unique choices of wedding car.
A great choice for a wedding car is a Morris Minor or VW Beetle; although planners may be put off by the size of the cars, their appeal and character is hard to dispute. The 'Herbie' like beetle is a must for a VW nut although getting in and out in a flowing wedding dress may not be the easiest of tasks. The Morris Minors on the other hand come in a variety of models and the convertible is ideal; offering style without being brash this choice of wedding car will surely suit those planning an original wedding.
An increasing number of couples have hired an American classic for their wedding day; this is a great alternative to the usual luxury cars available for hire while not compromising on size. A pink Cadillac is the perfect choice; complete with fins it brings a slice of 1950s America to your wedding. If pink is a little loud for a wedding car a 1959 Cadillac in white is an awesome choice for a wedding car.
The use of Hummer four by four's have increasingly been used by wedding car companies due to their comfort and large size; adorned in ribbons they can even look quite festive. An added bonus of using a Hummer is that the bride can step down from the car, making the transition from vehicle to church easier.
With such a huge worldwide following there is little wonder VW Camper Vans have become increasingly popular as wedding cars. This cult classic is held in high regard amongst its followers and for Camper Van fanatics there is no other choice for a wedding car. Once again using a VW Camper Van does not compromise on size, although speed is certainly reduced.
The wedding car market is becoming evermore flooded with vehicles from pop culture; a great example of this is the K.I.T.T. car from the eighties TV show 'Knight Rider.' Complete with flashing lights at the front this black Pontiac Trans Am will surely be hit for the groom, if not the bride.
Another popular car from culture that is available for hire as a wedding car is the Delorean from 'Back to the Future.' Although time travel is out of the question the 'gull wing' doors will ensure the groom fulfils a boyhood dream on his wedding day; after all it is not just about the bride.
Of course many will still go with the a more uniform wedding car for their special day, the elegance of a classic Rolls Royce or a 1930s black cab is something that cannot be doubted. As more couples abandon convention however the tradition of having a classic saloon for your wedding car will diminish. In the modern world the creative edge is always sought, the wide choice of wedding cars available for hire stands testament to this.
Whether it is the cute VW Beetle or the sporty Trans Am from a cult classic TV show there is now a host of cars that will surely fulfil any couple's transport requirements on their wedding day. Whether the groom will want to be seen leaving the church in a pink Cadillac however remains to be seen.

How to get more power in Pontiac Trans Am 85' V8 305?
I've a Pontiac Trans Am with the V8 305 carb. and I would like to get more power, what can I change?
Thanks
"More power" is somewhat vague. What are your goals for the car? How much power do you want? How much do you want to spend? What can you do to it yourself? What are you willing to pay other people to work on it? Or is that even an option?
I guess the obvious answer would be that you should change the engine. You can put any displacement of Chevrolet small block in there that you can afford. There are many websites that will show you how to get more power from the engine you already have also, but the best thing to do is to build the engine you want all at once instead of changing parts one at a time and getting stuff mismatched. For instance if you put oversize exhaust pipes on a stock engine, you may actually reduce performance instead of increase it. You will be a lot happier with the results and you will save money in the long run if you make sure all your engine parts match and are designed to perform with each other.
Save your nickels and dimes and get a crate engine for it. You can get a performance engine with a warranty straight from GM. It will be reliable and it will be dyno tested to make the advertised horsepower. Reliability and a guaranteed horsepower rating are things that you absolutely won't get by swapping parts one at a time no matter what the guys at the hot rod shop tell you. Some of them just want to sell you parts and don't care how fast your car goes or whether or not you blow up your engine.
The more weight you can take off the car, the better it will run. Stereo equipment can be very heavy. Also AC, back seats, spare tire and jack, carpet and sound insulation can all be removed if you really get serious.
And it would be irresponsible of you to make it go faster without making sure it will handle and stop as well as it runs. You should make sure the brakes work correctly before any performance mods are even considered. And the handling depends on what you intend to do with it, but it should at least be up to par with the original specs, no loose front end or saggy springs. And make sure you tires can handle how you want to drive it. There's a lot more involved in going fast than just making the engine stronger. If the rest of the car can't handle it you could hurt yourself, or run into someone else.
