Here are some more information for Rear Door:

There seems to be a trend to get a hitch mount bike rack as against the trunk mount or roof top bike rack these days. But, this doesn't mean that this bicycle carrier is the right one for you or your car. Fitting this bike rack to some vehicles is like trying to mix oil and water. The two just do not go together. This article will be broken down into the types of cars that people have and how they will be suited to this kind of carrier.
Smaller Cars
You have to think about how many bikes you want to carry. Carrying four or five bikes on a hitch receiver on a small car, is going to add a heck of a lot of weight to the back of the car. You might find yourself running out of steam on the up hills. I have seen some really fancy looking sports cars with a platform style hitch mount, and it didn't look too bulky or weird. Certainly beats putting the bike inside the car.
SUV's and Larger Vehicles
These vehicles are a lot heavier and designed to carry heavier loads. If you want to carry five bikes, and are traveling over some rough terrain, then make sure you put some extra padding between the rack and your car. Also if you really need to have regular access to the back this is where you may have to pay extra for a bicycle carrier that swings away from the car, allowing you access. But, be careful with these models. Some swing away and some can be lowered. If you are trying to lower the rack with all the bikes still loaded, it just won't happen! So if you are the type of person who wants to keep the rack on without always carrying bikes, then the lowering option is fine, but if you want to get into and out of the back, while you have five bikes loaded up, then I would go for the swing away.
Vehicles With a Spare Tire
Now if you have a spare tire to deal with, the hitch mount bike rack is still a great option and better than just mounting your bikes to the tire itself. But if you wanting to get into the back of your car, make sure you get this rack only if you have a hatch style rear door. Some models fit a side hinged rear door, but if you are going to try to open it while the rack is attached, then don't even try. It is just not an option.
Benefits of a Hitch Mount Bike Rack
It's secure. You can easily lock your bikes onto the rack and not have to worry about someone stealing your bike or your rack (along with the bikes!) It's stable. Extra straps come with the steel arms which let you tie the bikes down and back onto the car. It's sturdy. No rattling or shaking and great if you are driving on rougher terrain.
I hate to admit but I made the mistake of buying the wrong bike rack for my car the first time round.
To save yourself running into similar problems, make sure you properly research hitch mount bike rack models.
Read all the fine print.

Whats old is new again! Suicide doors are coming back into the spotlight for some very good reasons.
They are convenient and emerging hinge technologies have made them a quick and easy custom install for your ride with the reliability you've come to expect from OEM manufacturers. If you frequent the latest auto shows and ezines you'll find that many concept and production vehicles of late are now coming standard with Suicide door hinges on their rear doors. Why is this? If you have you ever gotten in and out of a vehicle with suicide doors you already know why. Its much easier than regular doors because door is out of your way when you swing your legs in.
Do you have mobility limitations? Another driving factor in the rebirth of suicide doors is the easy adaptability for those with mobility limitations. For many people this will allow them to enter their vehicle and and put their wheelchair in the back seat floor pan without assistance. This can be a very liberating experience and dependence on an able bodies passenger is no longer necessary.
Only a select few vehicles have this option, what do I do? Vehicle door hinge technology has seen dramatic leaps forward in the past decade. Especially in the vehicle aftermarket suicide door hinges made by one manufacturer in particular. Scissor Doors Inc. (www.scissor-doors.com) has been refining the aftermarket has broken the chains of traditional Suicide door hinge design by offering applications designed for the vehicles they are being installed on.
While this shouldn't be such a big deal it really is. All other aftermarket Suicide door hinges made by other companies are universal in design. Of those hinges 95% of them are designed for a straight door edge with a minimal overhang (under 2 inches). Like what one would find on Chevrolet S10 Pickup truck. This hinge design is copied and recopied by many manufacturers. The problem with these hinges isn't just that they won't fit your car, but on vehicles they do fit the end result is often sagging doors that are wobbly and don't open far enough. What is the cure for this? Vehicle Specific Suicide door hinge kits from Scissor Doors Inc. They take a fraction of the time to install and every installation is complete with new latches, locks, and electronic safety solenoids. Not only do they make applications for the front and rear doors of 4 and 2 door cars, they even guarantee every installation will be flawless when completed. Don't just take my word for it, check them out yourself online at www.scissor-doors.com
Be sure to ask them for photos of your suicide doors hinge application and remember that quality never cost as much as it saves!

How can I open the rear door/tail gate of a 2000 Ford Expedition without the interior lights coming on?
I am going to the drive in movie and want to be able to leave the rear door/tail gate open, but when I do this all of the interior lights come on and stay on. I can't figure out where the switch/sensor is that activates the lights. Can anyone out there help me out? I would really appreciate it, and so would all of the other patrons at the drive in............
i believe the switch is on the top you will have to have the top all the way open to see it
placing a peice of duct tape over the switch after you clean the surface will keep the lights off while still letting you have the rest of the doors kick on the nlight and you will also keep the speakers
it shouldnt be that noticable and if you want to go a step further you can paint the peice of duct tape with the factory color before installing the tape
now this may hurt the paint but where the switch is most of the body will be gone before ou have to worry about that area
goodluck
2010 Mercury Grand Marquis
This is the final year of production for the ancient, rear-drive Mercury Grand Marquis. TheCarConnection last reviewed the four-door sedan in the 2008 model year, when Ford made plans to halt sales of the car and its twin, the Ford Crown Victoria. Some 2010 Grand Marquis sedans remain available from dealers, but Ford has confirmed it will shut...
