Recreational vehicles are an excellent way to discover America. There seems to be no more pleasurable way of touring America than in the comforts of your own RV. Your tool kit should include things for electrical repair, plumbing repair and, of course, road side emergencies.

Electrical Repair Kit

Most electrical problems are simple if you have the tools necessary to fix or temporarily fix them. You can buy a simple self-contained electrical repair kit at just about any auto parts store. These kits generally run between twenty and thirty dollars.

What you need should be in most of them. If you are unsure which to get, talk with the parts manager and he will be more than happy to help you pick out the right one just for your needs.

- Duct tape and hose clamps are a must.

Roadside Repair Kit

Roadside repairs are generally burnt out light bulbs, blown fuses and tire problems.

- Carrying extra light bulbs to fit your RV and car is essential.
- Make sure you bring along your RV manual and your owners manual of you car to help you find your general problems.
- Fuses for your car can be purchased in advance and put in your electrical kit.
- Always carry a spare tire, jack and lug wrench.

Being prepared will keep your RV trip on the positive side and quite enjoyable. Travel prepared and travel knowing you can handle anything that comes along.

Can I use a windshield repair kit to fix a crack in my window?

My car windshield has a rock chip that has spread into a crack after a series of ice storms. (Gotta love the midwest). Anywho, my boyfriend says I don't have to replace the windsheild and that I can get a windshield repair kit for like 15 bucks and he can fix it. Is this true? I've never heard of it before. If you know anything about this, fill me in.
The place where the rock hit is about a dime size in diameter.

They keep the crack from spreading, but you still see the damage. At least the one's I've seen don't fully fix the damage.

Call your insurance company. My father's old Dodge Ram Charger truck had a rock flung at it and cracked the window. The insurance company said they would replace the window for free because the damage window would impede driver visibility and make it more likely to get into a accidend. ***They they would be paying out the butt, and so would we!***

But yeah, the window repair kit should stop the crack and keep it from spreading.
