How do I work my tube amp? I have a standby and power, how should use them right?

Hi I just got a tube amp (Vox Ac15) and it comes with a power and standby switch. I don't want to screw my amp up, so I need to know what the standby does, how to turn it on right and how to turn it off right and anything else you think I should know.

Use standby when you will be playing again soon(within the hour or so), so the tubes don't have to cool down and heat up again, shortening there life span.
