Are measuring cups or spoons important? Perhaps you might know of someone who is a cooking fanatic, and to you it looks like he or she just throws ingredients left and right and ta-da! It results in something simply scrumptious. You wonder if it is magic or not, and that makes you ponder about the importance of accurate measuring during cooking. The answer to the question is surprising: extremely important. If you cannot measure, expect your results to turn out average to terrible. Cooking is science. From mixing batter to stir-frying vegetables, you are creating delicious chemical reactions. An accurate balance of carbohydrates, fats, and liquids results in a masterpiece.
Too much salt or putting in too much baking soda in cookies can destroy the flavor. Muffins will taste bland and tasteless. If you are a beginner, extra attention must be paid to measuring. Your future success and satisfaction depends on the exact replica of the recipe.
When you are comfortable with your skill to cook, you probably will be motivated to try different things out. You might want to drop in a few chocolate chips into a regular peanut butter recipe, or replace cranberries with nuts in oatmeal cookies, or replace pecan with peanuts. All of these methods are innovative and fine, but first you must acquire and perfect the skill of measuring.
First of all, you will need some measuring equipment. An easy start for beginners can be learning how to use measuring spoons. Measuring spoons often comes in a set of four to six spoons, each having a size from a fourth of a teaspoon to one tablespoon. When measuring liquids, fill up the spoon to the brim for an accurate measurement. For dry ingredients such as flour, scoop it up and scrape the brim of the spoon with a knife or flat object until it matches the same level as the brim. Measuring cups comes in two types: graded and glass. Graded measuring cups contain about 4 to 6 cups in a set and are used to measure dry ingredients, such as shortening. Glass measuring cups comes with one, two, or four cups and is used to measure liquids. When using a measuring a thick liquid such as corn syrup, the inside of the cups should be sprayed with cooking greases so it would not stick to the insides and will be easier to remove.
One method to measure dry ingredients is to transfer the ingredients onto a spoon a scoop it into the cup. Afterward, take a utensil with a flat surface n level it off. This will give you an exact measurement of one cup. However, if the recipe tells you to add one heaping cup, you should not level it off and add the ingredient along with the extra mound on top. When measuring a liquid, always be sure to use a glass measuring cup. To read the liquid ingredients accurately, put the cup to a flat surface and read the measurement at eye level.

Prepare Your Gas Grill For Winter
With the cold weather right around the corner it’s important to get your grill prepared for the long hibernation it has to endure for the next few months. If done properly your gas grill will be ready to jump back to life next spring with as little maintenance as possible and you’ll be protecting your investment for the future.
Although it’s a sad process when the time comes that you can no longer grill outside, winterizing your grill is a fairly simple process and can easily be done in a short period of time
Giving your grill a quick cleaning is the first step in winter prep. Heat the grill on high with the lid closed for fifteen minutes to burn off all the food particles and grease on the grates. Allow the grill to cool completely and brush down the grates with a brass grill brush. Next, remove the flavorizer bars, soak and clean with soap and water, and allow them to dry. These could also be cleaned in the dishwasher. Then, scoop out and clean the sides and bottom of the grill with soap, water, and a plastic brush. Finally, clean out the grease trap and allow the grill to dry completely, then reassemble. Now the cleaning process is complete.
Just to make sure the grill is completely dry it doesn’t hurt to fire it up for a few minutes and let all the moisture dry out. Once the grill is cook this is also a good time cover any stainless steel parts with cooking spray or canola oil. This will help with preventing rust from forming. Next, you can close the propane tank valve and remove the hose from the grill. Also open and close the burner valves to release any trapped gas. That’s it, you’re done. Cover your grill and move it to its storage location.
If you’ve followed these steps now, you’ll thank yourself when the spring time rolls around as your grill will be in tip top shape for the beginning of grilling season.

Can you tell me what model is my grandfather's car ?
My grandfather has a huge 4-door Ford. He bought it in 1967 from West Germany. It's a white Ford Taunus 20M, but I'm not able to find exactly this version in any Ford catalogue, website or any other source actually. It has the overall design of a later 20M, but also a few curious details - engine is 2000 cc, there's a hood scoop (never seen another Taunus with it), the dashboard is divided in three individual square sectors (first is for the tank gauge, second for the speedometer and third for the clock). It also has the grille and front light arrangement of a late 20M/26M, but it has an unusual back lights design (long, rectangular back lights, identical to those on the 15M). Overall, it looks like a weird (and beautiful) hybrid of different Taunus models. No design changes and only a few repairs have been made since the car was bought in 1967. So, what model exactly this is ?
I can not pin point it exactly, but have a look here.
Im sure it will be of some help or point you in the correct direction..
