Here are some more information for Screws Stainless:

When a person thinks of Stainless steel, they envision silverware, knives, medical equipment, or possibly watchbands. Today, this type of jewelry is becoming all the more popular due to its durability and lower price, as well as the fact that it is hypoallergenic.
Engagement rings and Wedding bands can be made from stainless steel and they are just as beautiful as any ring made from gold or titanium. Rings made from stainless steel can be very simple, like a plain band, to the very intricately carved or inlayed with colors. Gemstones and Diamonds can be added for beauty. They can also be very easily engraved with a personal message to add a personal touch.
The metal gets its name from the fact that it does not leave stains. It also does not corrode or rust like ordinary steel does. It is composed of carbon, manganese, phosphorus, sulfur, silicon, chromium, and nickel. It does not scratch or dent as easily as gold jewelry does. During the Art-Deco era, it was used in the upper portion of the Chrysler Building. Today, many restaurants have large decorative panels of stainless steel where customers can see them; however where the customer cannot see there is lots of machinery and surfaces that are made of this strong metal as well. In hospitals, it is used for surgical instruments, surgical tables, and in the pins, rods, and screws that go into a patient's body due to the hypoallergenic properties. The United States Air Force Memorial has an outer surface consisting of a carbon-iron composition.
It is hard for couples in search of stainless steel engagement rings and wedding bands to locate them in the big named retail jewelers. These jewelers want to keep more expensive jewelry made from gold and platinum in stock. Below is a list of stores that do carry these special metal rings:
o Zales
o DeBebians
o Pierced Fish
o Just Men's Rings
o Stainless-Jewellery.com
o Talisman Jewelers and Metalsmiths
o Salt Lake Silver Ring Company
Taking care of stainless steel jewelry is not hard. As time goes by, it may require a buffing by a professional. However, when this kind of jewelry when not being worn, store it away from softer metals (gold) that can be damaged by the harder stainless steel, and away from gemstones that could also suffer damage when coming into contact with the tougher metal. For couples that may be on a budget, or want an engagement ring or wedding band that allows more diversity in design, this tough metal will withstand the test of time, just like their love.

The Benefits of Stainless Steel Fasteners
Stainless steel fasteners are made of steel that has been mixed
with at least a ten percent compound of chromium, and possibly
other metals, so that the steel doesn't rust or corrode. This
makes stainless steel fasteners great for outdoor conditions,
where there is a lot of water or moisture. Especially if you are
building something that supports a substantial amount of weight,
such as humans, you will need to use stainless steel fasteners.
Steel all by itself can rust until it breaks, and nobody wants
that.
When stainless steel fastening systems such as nuts and bolts
are employed, they tend to meld together. This is due to the
chromium layer on the surface of the stainless steel being
exposed to oxygen for a short time before fastening. When the
pieces are screwed together, the oxygen is taken out of the
equation, solidifying the bond. This process is called "galling".
There are other types of stainless steel fasteners that resist
becoming brittle at lower temperatures. These stainless steel
screws are infused with nickel. The nickel also works to
de-magnetize the stainless steel. Manganese can also be used in
place of, or in cooperation with, nickel, to roughly the same
effect, but at a lower cost.
Carbon can also be used to reinforce the steel compound. When
subjected to heat, these fasteners can become hardened and
strengthened to create finer elements, like the point of the
screw, as well as the threads.
Depending on what your fastening needs are, you will be buying
different types of stainless steel fasteners for different
fastening jobs.
Here's an interesting side note: stainless steel has a long
history. The first non-corrosive object still currently in
existence is an artifact from India called the Iron Pillar of
Delhi, which was a high-phosphorous-content iron pillar. Modern
stainless steel was invented in the early part of the 20th
Century, by a number of inventors and researchers
simultaneously. The first stainless steels were made of 10-18%
chromium, along with significant amounts of carbon. Thanks to
these inventors, stainless steel fasteners became a very
widespread, low-cost reality

solution for square head deck screws?
I am using stainless alum square head deck screws and before they totally seat they strip out. Any good way, or tool, to remove them?
Thanks,
Fred
They make a special bit for that. Go to a hardware store, tell them what the problem is & they can give you the bit. Go to someplace that deals w/ only hardware, not Lowe's or anyplace like that as this bit is a specialty bit. Secondly, Deffinately predrill the holes if you are using green treated lumber.Lastly, for deck screws, you should really be using star screws. They don't strip as easily. Make sure your holding your drill straight when screwing as this is the main cause of stripping screws. Always make sure your not using cheap bits as they aren't made of the best material.
