these do fit very well and if you want to show what you have this is the swimsuit to have, I know since I have one. It would show even better with a white mesh, if there was a way to show a photo I would.

My strap broke and my bass hit the floor. How do I fix it--read details?
I have a 7 piece neck through body with a tung oil finish. The wings are attatched with dowels and glue. The bass feel and cracked right on the glue joint. I managed to separate the rest of the glue, but the dowel pins are still glued in. Is it possible to remove them without breaking them? If not, how to I ensure that the pieces will go back together without being cocked or uneven. I'm afraid I will not be able to ream out the holes or drill them exactly where they were. This bass is my entire life. I can't buy another one, because i had it custom made, and it cost me about $2500. I can't afford (nor do I trust) taking it to a shop.
I'm determined to do this myself. I know I SHOULD take it in, but what can they do that I can't? I've got all the tools at my disposal at my shop. I'm very good at doing things myself, after getting information from people. I'm just wanting to know exactly what they would do. I really can't afford to take it in.
You can probably fix this yourself with a little patience and the right tools. Most guitar makers use a glue that will let go when heat is applied. If you really need to remove the dowels try heating them with a blow drier or better still a heat gun. Be careful not to burn the finish though. Once you have everything apart use heat to clean all of the remaining glue off of the pieces. It should be fairly simple to glue them back together once they're all clean. It may never look exactly like it did before but with any luck at all you should be able to make it very playable again. I've fixed many of my own guitars and basses over the years and I've found that the best advice id to take your time. Don't get over anxious and use the right glues. Good luck.
