Recession - Our presence is immaterial
Recession
Times are bad. Very bad.
A country overcast by a dark cloud of oppression and poverty, once climbed her way out of the bottomless pit in which its ancestors had dwelled for centuries. Using only her arms, as her legs were bound tightly together by an evil grip-imposed by faith mongers many moons before, she finally reached the grassy pastures told of in tales the of lore. The sun beamed down on her naked body slowly crisping her weather beaten wrinkled skin to a smooth golden brown. The birds flew inches from her face, fanning gentle breeze with calming coolness, freely living no hindrance feeling.
She wept with joy as the stratus-mist drizzled, light, dissolving on the touch. She had finally found her freedom and place among the Lords. Anxiety stricken and warlords beaten she stood to claim her throne, filled her battered lungs with head held up toward the stars, she scanned the land for home. "An sionnach beag" a small red fox scurried about her feet,.with his little black beady eyes always staring directly at her gaze as if to tell her something, warn her somehow or to maybe guide the way.
He scuttled off across the field while yelping barks of joy. She followed suit and ran and ran until they reached the top, of a mountain tall and broad and strong. She knew she'd found her home.
They formed a guild and built a town and even started trade.
Now, as she sat upon her throne and watched her children flourish as her land grew strong but her views stayed neutral, she couldn't help but notice a mist or fog off far.
Suddenly she heard of opposing demons. A land of terror and a land of freedom waging war unholy, both against the cause, both believe in truth. A black gold explosion and winged towering flames burst upon the land, the darkness had returned.
She sits back watching. Hoping. Crying.
Rivers of melted gold flow bubbling like a magma rage from the summit to the base. Her children burn and cinder, melting, bubbling in the pot. She sits alone and helpless wearing nothing but her diplomatic hat. The accumulated and assimilated conjunction of the years fall quickly, violently and sadly back into its cage.
Back into the pit once more.
About the Author
My car overheated, did I fix it right? (engine temp. warning light went on & temp. guage was on HOT)?
I have a 2000 Plymouth Breeze, like the generic version of a Dodge Stratus.
Lst year I had problems with my car overheating and took it into the shop. I was told it was something to do with the water pump, hoses, etc. Cost me $600.
Now a year later, i noticed when driving that my engine temp. warning light was on and the temp.guage was all the way up to H. I bought some of the 50/50 coolant mix and added it under the cap that was labeled "radiator". I'm hoping I did this right. I screwed the cap back on and ran my car for quite awhile. the temp guage was only up to just under half which i think is normal and ran the car for 20 mins.
I then drove it around for 20 mins and the guage stayed where in the same place, just under half way mark. Also, nothiing seems to be leaking.
Do you think it is OK for me to drive once again? I was laid off and dont have any money to take it into the shop.
Thanks for any help!
It is normal to have to add coolant in a years time. It is a little worrisome that it overheated because means a significant loss of coolant. You should only add coolant to the overflow tank instead of the radiator. It does no harm to add it to the radiator, but if the engine is warm, the radiator can be under considerable pressure and the coolant could geyser out or flash to steam and burn you. The level in the overflow tank, plastic container beside the radiator, should be about 1/2 full. You should check it right now, and If it is low, add coolant to this tank and watch it regularly. If the temperature gauge stays around the mid-point and does not significantly fluctuate after the engine warms up, then everything is probably normal.
Another thing to notice between fall and spring, is whether you get fairly uniform heat out of the heater. If the heater blows cold air after the car is warm, it usually means you have gas accumulating in the cooling system. Gas can come from engine combustion gases if you have a leaking head gasket, cracked head or cracked block. Coolant can be lost through the engine and out the exhaust pipe as well if you have an engine problem. You can often smell the coolant in the exhaust and see and feel residue at the end of the tailpipe if you are losing coolant this way. Coolant can under some circumstances, end up in your crankcase oil as well. This can be observed when you change the oil.
From what you describe, everything may be normal but keep track of the level in the overflow tank and keep a record of the date and volume of coolant you add just to make sure.
