Ashok Leyland, an India-based commercial manufacturing company, is planning to roll out super luxury passenger buses to rival Volvo and other high-technology buses.
When asked about the company's plan, Ashok Leyland chief operating officer Vinod K. Dasari has this to say: "The chassis will be made by their company and Ashok Leyland, TVS and a leading automobile firm of Spain would manufacture the body jointly." He said that they had not yet decided the name to be given to the vehicle.
Dasari participated in the inauguration of the new branch of Automotive Manufacturers at Gajuwaka. The new showroom of the company is spread over 2.71 acres with a built-up area of 25,000 square feet with 20 bays and ample space for the whole expansion plan.
Ashok Leyland was founded in 1948 as Ashok Motors. Its aim is to assemble Austin cars. The manufacture of commercial automobiles started in 1955 with equity contribution from Leyland Motors. Nowadays, the company is the flagship of the Hinduja Group, an England-based Indian group, which has a market share of about 30 percent.
Ashok Leyland vehicles have established a reputation for reliability and ruggedness. The 375,000 vehicles being put on the roads have considerably eased the additional pressure placed on road transportation in independent India.
Volvo, on the other hand, is famed for its luxurious lineup which is boosted by safety and functional features. Volvo tie rods, for one, are meticulous manufactured to ensure both the performance and safety of the vehicles.
On the demand for super luxury buses, Dasari said that they were in a position to manufacture any number of buses and admitted that the present market was very small. He added each bus could have 36 to 56 seating capacity depending on the requirement of the clients. "To cater to the requirement of container cargo in places like Visakhapatnam, they would be launching new tractors next month with 49 tonne capacity and 210 horse power," Dasari noted.
Dasari added that through extensive market research based on feedback from customers, they were changing the specifications of the vehicles and rolling out new models to suit Indian road conditions. So far, the response from the clients was overwhelming, he divulged.
Ashok Leyland has nine showrooms in the state. The company also has 154 base units for offering service. Ashok Leyland sold 10,500 units till February 28 as against 6,300 during last year. According to B.M. Singhvi, the Automotive Manufacturers chairman and managing director, they were expecting to sell over 11,000 vehicles during current fiscal.

Prioritize your Car's Modification: Shocks Before Rims and Low Pro Tires
The advantages to buying aftermarket rims and low profile tires are Higher-profile tires have a longer and narrower contact patch with asphalt, whereas low profile tires have a contact patch that is broader, but shorter. So what does all that mean for you and your vehicle in plain English? Essentially,it means that your car will handle and perform differently on the road with these types of tires. Cars with wider tires have more cornering force, while higher tires have the distinct disadvantage of not being able to handle much corner load. That problem is exacerbated the higher the vehicle is in relation to those high profile tires.
Consider first before you add those rims and tires, the importance of (in many cases) replacing those stock shocks and springs. For many sport compact owners, this means the addition of coilovers. Why would I recommend this first? Because those low profile tires are going to rattle the death out of most stock suspensions. Low profile tires will create a heavier burden on your suspension than they were made to handle. So try out sum aftermarket coilover manufacturers.
A coilover is an automobile suspension device. "Coilover" is short for "coil spring over strut". It consists of a shock absorber (British: damper) with a coil spring encircling it. The shock absorber and spring are assembled as a unit prior to installation, and are replaced as a unit when the shock absorber has leaked. This provides for optimal damping without torsional loads. Some coilovers may be adjustable for ride height and stiffness, using a simple threaded spring perch similar to a nut. The coilover is a basic component of the MacPherson strut suspension system, which is distinguished from other arrangements by employing a particular design of anti-roll bar as a longitudinal constraint. This was the first widespread use of the coilover in automobile suspensions; but there are other designs. The word coilover should not be considered a synonym for the MacPherson strut arrangement. Coilovers should not be confused with struts or independently mounted shock absorbers.

what year taurus or sable shocks /struts would fit my 1994 lincoln continental?
conversion kits are almost 500$, i heard the taurus or sables shocks/struts will fit, i need answers fast please!
my car has air ride im looking to put regular shocks and struts on it. called quick struts
I had a 1992 Continental and put 1992 taurus springs and struts so I would imagine 1994 would work for you. I believe 1994 and 1992 Continentals are the same so even '92 Taurus struts will work.
It changed the stance and lowered the front some and it looked like it should have from the factory and rode nice. The air ride sits so high in the front.
Also, I had to get the front end aligned because camber a toe were out some. I would totally do it again.
