A Mobile Tower crane is generally used in those companies where heavy equipments are manufactured or in construction industries. This crane is either mounted on a purpose built vehicle or fixed onto the ground. On the grounds of their functions and structure, this crane is divided into a derrick or a tower. It is equipped with pulleys and cables to lower or lift the materials.

A Mobile Tower crane is fixed onto the ground that enhances its lifting capacity and also enables it to attain height. It is usually used in the construction of sky scrapers. All the Mobile Tower cranes are basically designed having similar parts, a tower (or mast), the slewing unit and a base.

The base of the crane is fastened to a very big and solid concrete pad to support the crane. This pad is made few weeks before the mobile crane arrives. Large anchoring bolts are fixed deep into the concrete pad to provide support to the crane, thereby preventing it from falling over. The mast is connected to the base and this gives required height to the tower crane. The slewing unit then attached to the apex point of the mast which has a gear and a motor to help the crane rotate. There are three parts on the top of the slewing unit, namely a working arm or a horizontal jib, the operator's cab and a smaller flat machinery arm. The working arm is used to carry the load with the help of a trolley. The shorter machinery arm which is horizontal in position consists of the crane's motors and also the electronics along with the concrete weights. The cabin, in which the operator sits in, is placed at the top of this tower.

A common mobile tower crane has the capacity to lift around 18 metric tons (39700 pounds approximately) which is its maximum capacity.

I need a metal bed frame (bed support)for a headboard & footboard that bolts on at 4" and 6" up from the base.

I purchased the metal headboard/footboard about 13 years ago & am having a difficult time finding a mattress/box springs support (frame) that will work. The headboard & footboard have two bolts coming out on each leg to accept a frame. The bolts are approximately 4" & 6" up from the bottom of the legs. It would seem that any old bed frame would work but they don't! About seven years ago they made all bed frames "universal" so as to avoid problems like this one!
