How can you tell if your car had frame damage and is considered total loss?
My car was parked outside my house and was hit. The damaged area is the side rear near the tires, and gas tank, trunk ect. Basically my car was like a sandwich between the other car and the side walk crushing it.
My insurance advised me to take it to their choice of shop and an “adjuster” would take a look, I suggested I would take it to the dealership and have them estimate damages and tell me if it may be considered as total loss as I’m afraid that the frame was damaged and the car is not safe to drive.
Should I trust the insurance adjuster or go with my dealership? I am really hoping the car is a total loss as I wouldn’t like driving an unsafe car.
