Ford's affect on the performance mustang community was two-fold when it released the supercharged Shelby GT500 Mustang in 2007. It gave SVT product the balls to kick some major tail on the street, but it also showed the aftermarket and its consumers how much the Modular motors prefer forced induction and how that allows for great strides in performance.

Lightning Force Performance (LFP) in Houston, TX. Offers the Shelby GT500 owner numerous products to improve all aspects of a Shelby's performance, so we procured a suitable test subject and pounded the dynamometer for some results.

Said test vehicle came from the stable of LFP's son Jesse Sims who also boards a supercharged 2000 SVT Lightning. The 2007 Shelby GT500 isn't Sims' daily driver, but he wasn't looking for maximum power, just a little more to give him that thrill he got when he first purchased it.

That being said, we called LFP and asked Mark what he recommended. Obviously, a pulley and cold air combo was a given, and Silvestre suggested we start with an LFP 2.60 Upper Pulley Kit (Shelby Pulley's) and a C&L Cold Air Kit (Shelby GT500 Intakes). He also suggested we try LFP's new billet aluminum lower control arms for more stability at launch. (Shelby GT500 Suspension)

With increased boost come increased air-charge temperatures, so we installed LFP's Extreme intercooler heat exchanger (Shelby GT500 Cooling) its larger-than-stock capacity will provide more fluid for the transfer of heat, and its construction offers more cooling fins per inch than the stocker for increased efficiency.

While you can get away with adding a cold air kit and pulley to a naturally aspirated Ford Mustang, the Shelby GT500 requires some tweaking to the ECM due to the additional airflow created by the LFP 2.60 Upper Pulley Kit and C&L Shelby GT500 Cold Air Kit. LFP has you covered with pre-tuned dyno tunes which can be pre-loaded into an SCT Xcal 3 tuner for your convenience.

Our subjects '07 Shelby baseline at 411hp and 353 lb-ft of torque at the wheels. After installing the Shelby Pulley Kit and GT500 Intake, our subjects GT500 increased to 11psi of boost resulting in a quick and easy 505hp and 431 lb-ft of torque. This could not be achieved without properly modifying the Shelby with a custom tune from LFP.

Things were looking great so far, and after we bolted on the GT500 C&L Cold Air kit, power and torque improved once again to 565hp and 516 lb-ft of twist. We were on a roll and not quite finished with our mods.

Nitro Rc Car "buying Your 1St Rc Nitro"

 

Nitro RC Cars are great fun to use but they are also a committed serious hobby that will need some time to – Maintain, fix and clean a nitro car. But this does not take too long to do and is a requirement to keep the car working properly and to maximize the performance.

Here's what you need to know about starting out with nitro rc cars. Firstly there are some adjustments when you get a new nitro model even so they are sold as ( RTR) ready to run, on a nitro car there is a engine needle setting sometimes there are 2 on pro versions and the instructions you get normally have details on this for that particular model and is pre factory set but these often need to be adjusted and fine tuned regularly. With the needle it only needs to be turned a little, about a mm or so counter clockwise at a time and this should get you started and can be fine tuned until the nitro car runs smoother.

Also check all the screws are tight as these DO come loose all the time and if you lose a screw the car might not operate properly or worse you could lose a small part and then the car will need a spare part and be hassle for you.

As any new nitro radio controlled car there is an engine Break-in procedure for the engine. This means as it is a new engine you have to slowly run the first 4-6 tanks of fuel and no more than a few minutes each run, also make sure the body shell is off when doing this so it allows air to flow keeping the engine cool .

Also a important note is to make sure you only keep it at half throttle, with no revving the car or you will damage the engine and limit the performance as the engine must not get too hot, which is why you have to be patient and follow the above.

This is only a short time to do and believe me it's worth the extra little effort.

Priming the engine with nitro fuel is quite easy and there are a couple of ways to do this. As you pull-start the engine on the nitro car, look at the clear fuel line this is a clear plastic tube so you can check to see if the fuel is reaching the carburettor, if the fuel does not flow all way though then first check there are no kinks in the pipe anywhere, if this is ok then you can prime the engine by putting one finger over the exhaust or air intake for only a few seconds ! While pull-starting the car until you see the fuel reach the engine. Make sure finger is not over exhaust for long or you will flood the engine and lock it up.

If this does not work then i find this option easier :grab the fuel line end that connects to the exhaust and wiggle it off and blow down the pipe and this will force the fuel in, push the pipe back on and that's it.

If you do flood the engine on your nitro rc car the pull-start will become stiff and hard to pull.

Do not pull until you have unflooded the engine, now to do this you simply remove the glow plug from the heat head sink and turn the car upside down, then pull-start the engine a few times to expel the excess fuel out of the combustion chamber. Replace the glow plug and start over again.

Nitro rc cars are fast and can hit 70 mph and can do flips and jumps and great fun to race with others.

I bought a panther arms .308 rifle. I thought I was buying the LRT SASS model but don't think I recieved it

I just bought. Panther arms builds several models of AR style rifles I bought one of them off gunbroker.com. It was advertised as DPMS Panther SASS .308. I received the gun and the model shows LR .308. I done some research and there is one LRT SASS model and several LR models. My rifle looks just like the LRT SASS in the pictures I have been able to find, yet is stamped with a different model number. Then I found an article that said:

What it comes down to is I am not sure which rifle they sent me. Can anyone please offer up some wisdom

Contact Panther Arms and give them all the info that you have on the rifle and ask them if it is, in fact, the rifle that you wanted. If it is not, I would contact Gunbroker and ask them to take it back because it is not the rifle that they advertised. I think that when you present them with the info that you get from Panther Arms, they will take back the gun with no problem. Do not be confrontational with them. Be polite and tell them that a mistake was made. They want to maintain their reputation and should make any necessary corrections. The secret is have your facts down solid and be polite in dealing with Gunbroker. Goodluck.
