Car stereo -- second amplifier?
Okay, it's a fullsize van. Pioneer DEH-1900MP headunit, four 6x9's, all powered directly by the headunit. RCA outputs going to a 300w mono amp, powering two 12" subs in parallel.
At louder volumes (42 on the CD player with loudness on low, Bass +4, Mid+2, Treble+5), everything starts to get kinda drowned out. I have bass blockers (47uF capacitors) on the rear speakers.
Would adding a 2-channel amp to drive the four 6x9s help improve the clarity, or would it just mean I need a bigger amp to get my bass back?

yes, i suggest a rockford fosgate amplifier, they are great, and it will add to your music. or go with a california amp, those are cheaply priced, and nothing but great reviews, crutchfield . com sells them for around $110 and you will love it. I have a pioneer 6000ub head unit, 2 12" fosgates, and much more, so I have pretty good knowledge on these things, get the california am if on a budget, but if you have cash to spend, get the fosgate 2 channel.you need a 4 channel to drive 4 speakers, no 2 channell will do it justice. get a 4 channell, and the bass will be there for sure.
